Ten Red Beach lifeguards have been selected to represent Surf Life Saving Northern Region in an 18-strong team to travel to Australia in the New Year.
The team leaves on January 12 and will first compete in a surf carnival at Killcare Beach, New South Wales, on Saturday January 13.
It will then compete against teams from Central Coast and NSW Country branches in a three-test series during the week of January 15 at three beaches on the Port Macquarrie coast.
Selected for the team are: Chris Moors, Jane Moors, Erin Taylor, Chester Edwards, Patrick Maney, Lauren Johnson, Alistair Maney, Sam Cosgrove, Rachel Clarke and Keziah George.
The team manager is John McBride and the assistant manager is Wayne Franich. Jason Pocock is the coach and Miriam Ellis will travel with the team as chaperone.
