Thirteen Red Beach club lifeguards have been selected as regional lifeguards for the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
Starting their holiday jobs on Monday 15th December, they will patrol beaches throughout the northern region, from Baylys Beach and Ruakaka in Northland down to Raglan in the south.
They will be responsible for patrolling on weekdays from Monday to Friday, for periods ranging from five to 10 weeks. Volunteer lifeguards will patrol their beaches during weekends.
Surf Life Saving Northern Region has appointed 81 qualified guards to work as regional lifeguards.
