Surf camp a success

20th January 2009

The Super Surf Camp held at Red Beach on 12 & 13 January is set to return in 2010 following another successful outcome.
It was a follow-up to the camp held one year ago and was conducted on the same lines as the popular JuniorSurf training camps held in Australia. The camp focused on developing board and swimming skills as well as training ethic and personal development.
The 49 youngsters aged from 7-13 years who attended the two-day camp were JuniorSurf members from several clubs in the northern region.
It was run by Brett Dowker, the Australian National High Performance head coach with the assistance of Andrew Newton from the Mt Maunganui club.
