Patrolling at Pakiri

Surf patrols at Pakiri about to start up again

Red Beach lifeguards will be back at the popular northern beach of Pakiri to continue their volunteer surf patrols from Saturday 17 December.
The Red Beach club began patrolling Pakiri two years ago as a result of its fast-growing membership and the ability to provide highly-qualified lifeguards.
Last summer, during the patrolling period from early-December to mid-February, lifeguards at Pakiri carried out 16 rescues and performed 65 preventative actions during the 582 hours they were on patrol. This summer's surf patrols will continue through to Sunday 12 February.
