Red Beach women’s surf boat crew rows into the top spot in opening round of NZ Surf Boat Series

The Red Beach Sirens crew overcame the elements of blustery conditions and a strong current and chop to row home first in the open women’s 6-boat final at Paekakariki.
Rowing in a borrowed Piha boat, their win in Round One of the NZ Surf Boat Series has given the crew of Zita Talaic, Ashleigh Jenkins, Lorraine Murray, Madison Smith and sweep Monty McGougan the maximum points before they head into the next round at Whangamata on 2 January.
