Competitors to hone their skills on 10-day training camp

A Red Beach Surf Club contingent of 40 athletes, coaches and parents heads for Australia’s Gold Coast this week for a 10-day training camp.
Staying at tourist park accommodation, the group will train out of the Pacific Surf Club under the guidance of six club coaches.
During the first weekend away – 8/9 December – all 29 athletes will compete at the Oceans 38 surf carnival at Dicky Beach at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.
Fundraising stints including winter BBQs, raffles and the proceeds from an End of Summer Party have contributed to the cost of the tour.
Partners Life Insurance donated a very generous amount of $7,500 which was secured by NZ 1st Financial Services (Mark Morgan-Kemp). Donations from Bryan & Pat Heron and Hiway Stabilizers have also helped to get the team to Australia.
