Round 2 of the Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman series was held at Newcastle Beach, New South Wales on Saturday 12 January with Chris Moors competing again.
This round saw the elimination format which meant that five Ironman races were possible. After each race, the bottom three competitors dropped out.
We bring you pics from the first race in which the order for the disciplines was ski, board, swim. Chris dropped out at the conclusion of race two.
Note:  Round 3 of the KNG series takes place at Portsea, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria on Sunday 27 January.

Change of venue for Anniversary weekend event

Close to 900 surf athletes are expected to compete over the two days of the Eastern Regional Championships (ERC’s) during Anniversary weekend.
The event sees a switch from Mt Maunganui – the host venue for many years – to Whangamata further up the coast.
It's the next biggest surf lifesaving event after the New Zealand Championships and is regarded by competitors as the springboard for the premier event which will be back at Mt Maunganui in March.
Saturday’s events at Whangamata get under way at 8.00 am with surf races and there’s also an 8.00 am start on Sunday.  The boat & canoe arena commences at 9.00 am on each day.
