Red Beach surf boat crews came away from the recent North Island Surf Boat Championships at Waihi Beach with two convincing wins.
The U21 women’s crew of Blakey’s Angels, swept by Craig Dillon, trounced a field of seven starters and came away with two firsts and a second placing in the heats to secure the overall points win.
Meanwhile, in the Masters division, the wily Cab Savs crew, swept by Lance Hammond, proved too strong for the four other masters crews in the half-metre surf and notched up three wins from three starts.
All Red Beach surf boat crews now head for the Northern Region Championships at Ruakaka next weekend.
