Club lands eleven sports and regional awards

Red Beach wins big at Awards of Excellence night, taking out …

  • Five sports awards
  • Senior Competition Club of the Year
  • Junior Competition Club of the Year
  • Northern Region Patrol Championships trophy

Red Beach Surf Club matched last year’s achievements by winning 11 awards at Surf Life Saving Northern Region’s Awards of Excellence Night on Saturday 5 July.
Five of the trophies were for individual and team achievements. The Red Beach Sirens surf boat crew took out the Competition Team of the Year award while surf boat sweep Shane ‘Bugsy' O’Halloran landed the prestigious Surf Coach of the Year honour.
Briar McLeely was the winner of the U19 Sportswoman of the Year award while Hannah Williams took out the U16 Sportswoman of the Year trophy. Talented teen Hamish Gledhill collected the U14 Sportsman of the Year trophy.
The club also picked up six regional awards on the night, held at the Level Four Lounge at Eden Park and attended by 330 guests. Singer Jamie McDell made a guest appearance at the function.
