Up-and-coming surf athletes will get their chance to shine at the 59th Owen Chapman Cup surf carnival on Saturday.
The event, hosted by the Red Beach Surf Club, is the longest running club day in Australasia for surf athletes and attracts top tier competition from across the nation. Close to 300 athletes are expected to compete this time around.
But in a twist this year, top New Zealand lifeguards from the Northern Region will be in Australia for the Trans-Tasman Tri Series against Aussie teams Central Coast and New South Wales Country. Read more …
