Red Beach lifeguard Caitlin Ryan has taken a step closer to realising her dream of competing in the 2016 Olympics with kayaking successes last weekend in Portugal.
Competing in the canoe sprint World Cup meeting, Ryan (23) teamed with fellow New Zealanders Aimee Fisher, Kayla Imrie and Jaimee Lovett to win gold in the women’s K4 500m final in a well-executed race.
The Kiwi quartet timed their race to perfection, passing the hosts as they approached the finish line and holding off a late run by a Polish crew. Read more …
