The New Year will see three Red Beach crews heading for the Whangamata Surf Boat Spectacular on Monday 2nd January.
The event is Round Two of the NZ Surf Boat Series and race organisers are confident of more than 50 crews taking part. Crews will race over a long course/sprint finish series in all age divisions.
“The Boomers placed third overall in Round One at Titahi Bay and we’re expecting to see more open men’s crews and tighter racing at Whangamata,” said sweep Shane O’Halloran.
“It will give us a chance to look at the form of the crews who didn’t compete in Wellington,” he added.
Two other Red Beach crews, the Muzzies and the Rabbits will be rowing in the open women’s division.
