Club athletes take on Mount Monster

Around 40 Red Beach lifeguards
took part in the gruelling Mount Monster event at Mt Maunganui on Saturday 16 December. The club fielded teams of four in the U19 Teams category along with three individual athletes.

A challenging endurance event, it combined a 5km run along the sand, a Run-Jump-Swim over a 1.2km distance, a 6km board paddle and a 12km ski leg. Placings by the club's U19 teams were:

3rd     Red Beach Turtles (Kees Kramer, Sam Readman, Hamish Gledhill, Seamus Kelly)
5th     Red Beach Snails   (Patrick Makgill, Kade Scheib, Max Boocock, Angus Henare)
13th   Red Beach Slugs    
18th   Red Beach Taniwha
29th   Red Beach Pauas
34th   Red Beach Sloths
49th   Red Beach Koalas
59th   Red Beach Caterpillars
62nd  Red Beach Armadillos
