The club's Junior athletes have won the Northern Region JuniorSurf Championships Trophy for a third consecutive time.
A team of 78 young athletes defended the prestigious trophy by notching up 123 points, heading off Mairangi Bay (104) and Orewa (92). Close to 400 competitors representing eight Northern Region clubs took part in the two-day event at Omaha. They were joined by some individual competitors from the Bay of Plenty.
Red Beach achieved 16 Gold, 21 Silver and 11 Bronze medals.
"The training of our young athletes has gone particularly well in the lead-up to the Junior Championships," said Red Beach coach Jack Gavin.
"We've given them more opportunities to train and we've involved our Senior athletes who have taken their coaching roles seriously and have done a great job in passing on their knowledge".
"We have an abundance of good coaches who work especially well with the youngsters who are showing the skills they've been taught".
"Our athletes delivered some impressive results at Omaha and were particularly dominant in beach events," he added.
Competition for the Cath & Eddie Millar Cup was run in conjunction with the JuniorSurf Championships, resulting as follows:
1st Orewa (41) 2nd Red Beach (36) 3rd Mairangi Bay (33).
