The re-opening of Red Beach Surf Club's beachfront headquarters on Saturday 17 November was the culmination of 10 years of building re-development and renovations.
It all started in August 2008 when the construction of the deck got under way. The re-development work has been carried out in several phases, resulting in major changes to both the interior and exterior of the building.
Auckland Mayor Phil Goff was present to officially re-open the clubrooms with the cutting of a red ribbon.
The event was also seen as a celebration of 65 years since the founding of the club in 1953.
