The completion of the deck extension at the clubrooms has taken a step closer.
Earlier this month, D&H Steel Construction – with thanks to Dean Pouwhare – were back on site to move the freshly painted deck support beams back into place.
In mid-November, the builders will return to lay the Purpleheart decking, a South American hardwood that is extremely dense, water-resistant and has excellent strength.
The handrails will then be installed, allowing the extension to link up with the main deck. Two ranchsliders, which up until now have remained locked, will allow access to the extension. The outcome will provide a complete walkway along the frontage of the clubrooms.
The completion of the deck extension will be carried out at the same time as the installation of a disability lift on the western side of the building. Completion of both jobs is expected by Christmas.
