Red Beach lifeguards returning to Pakiri

Lifeguard patrols
start up again at Pakiri on Saturday 21 December and continue until Sunday 29 March next year. Patrol hours for Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are from 11.00 am – 5.00 pm.

It will be the eleventh year of volunteer patrolling at Pakiri by Red Beach lifeguards. Pakiri is a one-hour drive north from Red Beach and is popular during the summer months with visitors, many of them tourists who are drawn to this picturesque coastal playground.

During the past 10 years at Pakiri, the club’s lifeguards have carried out a total of 127 rescues, an average of 12 per summer season.
