Club to field big numbers for NRCs at Omaha

18th February 2020

Red Beach will be at top strength
when its 99 athletes hit the surf and the sand at this weekend's Northern Region Championships at Omaha.
And with the NZ Championships just two weeks later, competitors will be focusing on some top performances before the premier event of the summer takes place in Gisborne.
There are 430 athletes registered for the two-day event at Omaha, representing eight Northern Region clubs and 10 out-of-region clubs.
Masters' events also feature on the NRCs programme with points counting towards the Masters Competition Club of the Year trophy.
Red Beach has taken out the Northern Region Championships Points Trophy for overall points on the past two occasions, 2018 & 2019.

Saturday's programme starts at 9.00 am with the 2km Beach Run, followed by surf races. In the boat arena, canoes are up first, competing over a long course.
Sunday's programme commences at 9.00 am with the Lifesaver Relay, followed by the Board Rescue for all age divisions.
