Crews win medals in NZ Surf Boat Series

31st March 2020

Red Beach had two crews
on the water at Gisborne’s Midway Beach in mid-March for the NZ Surf Life Saving Championships.
Whilst unplaced in their events, both crews made it to the podium where they were recognised for their placings in the NZ Surf Boat Series for the 2019-20 season.

The Valkyries crew, in their first season together, took out the Gold medal in the U19 women’s division. The crew comprised of Keeva Marinthe, Lyric Logotaeao Su’a, sweep Bugsy O’Halloran, Bethany Enright & Maia Young, pictured L-R above.
The Red Beach Rabbits were awarded the Silver Medal in the Open women’s division.

Race points were cumulative from three venues; the CRCs at Waimarama Beach, Hawkes Bay in January; the ERCs at Mt Maunganui; the NRCs at Omaha Beach in February.
