Service Awards to four Red Beach members

Surf Life Saving Northern Region
has recognised four Red Beach Surf Club members for their services to both the club and the surf lifesaving movement.
Debra Cairns, above, now in her thirteenth year as Club Administrator, has been honoured with an SLSNR Distinguished Service Award.  Included in her portfolio are 16 years collectively as a member of the Junior Surf, Senior Surf, and Management committees, six years as a volunteer coach for Rookies, and 12 years as a competition official.

And three club members are the recipients of SLSNR Service Awards. They are Senior Surf committee chairman Ian Cairns, Junior Surf committee chairman Richard Rogers, and patrolling stalwart Craig Gledhill who has also carried out seven years as a competition official.

The awards were announced during a recent live streaming of the SLSNR Awards of Excellence. The Covid-19 lockdowns forced the cancellation of the two functions that had been planned.
