Red Beach Surf Club’s annual Open Water Swim has been moved from Sunday 7th March to Sunday 21st March.
With Auckland currently in Covid Alert Level 3, the club has made the decision to postpone the swim by two weeks.
The event, now in its 32nd year, is organised by Red Beach SLSC in conjunction with Roskill Master Swimmers and offers entrants the choice of either 1.5km or 3km, with the course starting close to the surf club. The minimum age for swimmers is 14 years and the wearing of wetsuits is optional.
Entrants will be able to pay the $25.00 entry fee at the Red Beach clubrooms by 1.30 pm on the day of the swim.
Up for grabs will be the Deyal Cosgrove trophies, to be awarded to the first man and first woman to complete the 3km course without wetsuits. The start time is 2.30 pm.
