Age Groups & Fees
JuniorSurf Age Groups
Children are trained and compete at carnivals within age groups. These are determined based on the child's age as at 30th September 2016 (for the 2016-17 season).
200 Metre Badge
Junior Surf members (Under 9s and above) are required to attain their 200 metre badge to compete in water events at surf carnivals and club championships.
Swimming Abilities and Expectations
It should be noted that in view of the environment in which our activities are carried out, every effort should be made to ensure that juniors have swimming proficiency. This should increase as children progress through the age groups.
While we offer pool and sea swimming sessions with a trained instructor for A Group (Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 10s) children preparing for their 200m badge, as a club we do not provide swimming lessons.
Registrations take place at the Red Beach Surf Club on the 9th & 16th October 2016 from to . Membership fees are collected and uniform orders are taken on these days.
Families contribute financially to the running of Red Beach Surf Life Saving Club in two distinct ways: membership fees and fundraising.
If any family is able to assist the Junior Surf division with fundraising, either directly or by promoting us to friends, family and business associates, they can contact any of the committee for promotional material.
Fees are set as follows ...
* Family Membership includes Associate membership for parents/guardians (see below). All members must reside at the same address.Additional Fees
Fees do not cover pool training and some carnivals, which have an entry fee requirement. Information regarding these costs will be posted on the notice board or advised by team coaches/managers closer to the time.
Fundraising is essential to the club and provides an opportunity for all families to help support their children’s surf life saving activities. Your ideas and involvement in organising and running fundraising events is always appreciated. Helping with our weekly sausage sizzle on training days is one example of how every family can contribute to the club. Please contact any committee member with your valuable suggestions and offers of help, they are always welcome!
