Slice of history with presentation of club trophy

2nd June 2021

A slice of history
was revealed when a club trophy was presented at the club’s Prize Giving Night on 22 May.
The award, the Pritchard Family Cup for the Top Surf Ski Paddler in the Open men’s division, was won by Kade Scheib for the 2020-21 season.
The inaugural winner of the cup was Kade’s dad Mark who won it in 1989 and became the first athlete to have his name engraved on it.
“Of all the trophies being presented, this was the one I really wanted to win,” said Kade after the Prize Giving.
Mark, who is the club’s current president, represented New Zealand in kayaking at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992.
