Red Beach Surf Club’s Prize Giving Night
on Saturday 28 May will be an opportunity to honour the lifeguards and volunteers who have excelled in patrolling, competition and administration during the past season.
The awards to be handed out on the night will be recognition for surf lifesaving achievement, sporting excellence, volunteer contributions, and personal goals reached.
Just over 70 cups and trophies will be awarded for successes and achievements during a season hugely affected by Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions. They include the Champion Lifesaver awards, trophies for the most improved athletes, and recognition for the Best Overall Performers in Board, Ski, and Iron Person events.

And there are patrolling awards to recognise the individuals who have done outstanding work at the two beaches patrolled by club lifeguards. Awards will also be handed out to members involved in IRBs, surf boats & surf canoes.
Speculation will centre on who wins the top awards, namely:  Contribution to Powercraft, Outstanding Achievement, and the Best All-Round Patrolling members. The night’s finale will be the presentation of the President’s Cup for Best Clubman.

The premises will be open from 6.00 pm for socialising and refreshments. Prizegiving begins at 6.30 pm. The overhead TV screens will feature the best pics taken during what has been the most disrupted season ever experienced by the club and its members.
